Teens capture images of space with $80 camera and balloon

Teens capture images of space with £56 camera and balloon – Telegraph.

So these students at the IES La Bisbal school in Catalonia, in Spain.  Have built there very own souped up weather balloon thing basically they started off with a weather balloon and added some sensors also a $80 camera. There plan was to get the balloon up to the level that airliners fly at but where able to get it to the edge of space as you can see from the picture. They tracked there balloon with a transmitter that sent out where it was to google earth.  When they later recovered the balloon all the equipment was still functional although it had just been to the edge of space.Pretty great idea maybe i’ll try something similar this summer but just on a smaller scale i’d like to see those pictures. Check out the link above for more about this.
