DROID ERIS by HTC Verizons second phone in the Droid line comes out today for $99

500x_101_0886[1]

So I’m not going to lie, I’m  pretty bummed out today. Why you ask? Why is because I’m a Iphone owner stuck at AT&T for another year, and today is the release of  Motorola’s Droid which looks amazing well more so Android 2.0 looks amazing. Also  I was on Gizmodo and I see this phone. Yes people your eyes are correct another Droid phone being released  for Verizon on the same day and for 100 bucks cheaper. Not that this phone is going to be amazing but  for $99 you get a solid phone.  Some of its features include:

  • 5mp Camera
  • 3.2 inch Multi-touch screen
  • Android 1.5 built in but will later be able to upgrade to 2.0( which is sick)
  • Head Phone jack which I find to be a very important feature
  • $99 bucks 2 year contract

Formal Action’s Halloween Bash

                                          l_47ba45a3e1a54bf6aed3c8fb6308ee6d[1]

So I hate Mondays I don’t know if anyone’s noticed that I don’t usually get anything up here till late or if at all. I need some time to work the daze out of my system.

So Friday I went down  to good old Narragansett home of the Rhode Island Rams and the biggest population of people from New Jersey on the east coast other then New Jersey itself. So there I was  to see two of my favorite local bands. Roz Raskins and the RiceCakes and Formal Action. I’ve written about Roz Raskins and the RiceCakes before probably like a month ago or maybe less.Anyways they put on a awesome show as usual but today I’m going to write about Formal Action.

Friday wasn’t the first time I had seen Formal Action play but definitely the best performance I have seen, they recently got a new drummer Cory Giliard (who I actually meet for the first time last night,)but  they sound like they had all been playing together for years. Matt DeCosta  the lead singer & guitarist played with a showmanship that reminds me of olds school acts from back in the day. When people didn’t just try and stand and look cool with there instruments but would go nuts and put on a show.  (no one smashes guitars no more i don’t get it ) . Formal Action currently has a album out called Life On the Rocks, which you can pick up from them at their shows or on there MySpace there’s a list of  locations. They have been recording a new album called Majesticon which should be out soon.

Check out Formal Actions Myspace

Below are some pictures from the show that my buddy Paul Medeiros took.

Here’s a link to his Musical Project

Android 2.0 Developers Preview

So this looks pretty cool. Google has released a preview of developer features for Android 2.0. Some of the features I thought were pretty interesting were the Quick contacts which gives you quick links to open the best method of communicating with a contact. Also the new Bluetooth features look pretty sweet too allowing apps to turn on a devices Bluetooth and connecting to nearby devices to share data. All in all not as flashy as the Iphone but seems a little more productive. More and more I hate that I’m locked into a 2 year contract with At&t. Anyways check out the video explains everything a lot better.

BlackBerry Wrist Watch, Ya I was like WTF too!

500x_bbwatch_01[1]  So this bad boy is BlackBerry’s new watch that will connect to your BlackBerry phone thru its Bluetooth. It doesn’t really do much basically a wrist mounted dashboard. It wont place calls or compose text messages, but it will give you a preview if you get a call or receive a text or receive any Blackberry related news. Not gonna lie I kinda think this is stupid but at the same time pretty sick. I’m assuming its for that on the go business guy or gal so having somewhere you can see who’s calling or texting or more important let you know when you have a meeting schedule. I could see it coming in pretty handy other then that it seems a little to geeky even for myself. The manufactures of the watch say that it will last 4 days on a single charge and should be ready to ship in February and will be around $150

Here are some of it specs:

  • 1.3” Full Colour organic light emitting-diode (OLED) display
  • Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR
  • 150 mAH lithium-ion polymer battery
  • Glass lens and full metal body
  • 22mm interchangeable wrist band
  • Vibrating motor
  • MIcro-USB port (For charging)
  • Over-the-air firmware updates
  • Dimensions: 51 mm height x 38mm width x 12mm depth
